Restaurant Name : Wild Sugar Patisserie & Cafe, Row House 7, Clover Corner, Konark Nagar Road, Viman Nagar, Pune
Date of Visit: 25th January 2017
An exclusive #FoodProwl (http://www.foodprowl.com/) food tasting event 🙂
A place to wildly enjoy the patisserie on the offer with some delicious food to complement and really with not too much of sugar 😉
All the Beverages served like the Cold & Hot Coffee, Apple Mint Mojito and Brownie Shake were very good. The Brownie Shake in particular was simple amazing. The Apple Mint Mojito, conventional Mojito with a twist of Apple flavor, that I had, was also nice variation to taste.
Light Bites :
Vegetable Aracini Balls were nicely crispy on the outer shell and soft inside, the stuffed chopped veggies adding the necessary crunch to the inner shell.
Chicken Tempura : The battered chicken strips were nicely fried, no access oil and perfect but could be even better if made slightly more crispy. But its totally a personal choice and they are good as presently served as well.
BBQ Chicken Wings : The chicken wings were consistently barbecued, the BBQ sauce itself was really good and well balanced.
Koshimbir Salad : Strikingly, as opposed to the conventional Maharashtrian styled Koshimbit Salad that makes used of curd and that I knew until now, the version served at Wild Sugar & Pattisre based on recipie from southern India makes used of curry leaves with chopped veggies. The sprouts added is a modification with the intent to add some proteins, as conveyed. 😀 Served with Brown Rice, which itself was excellent, overall makes it very good. The dressing is a touch bland, leaving scope of some flavors that can be attached to make the salad even more interesting. 🙂
Apple, Pear & Walnut Salad : Combination of Apple, Pear with crunchy Walnuts and topped with Mascarpone Cheese makes it a very good salad.
Mom’s Classical Ciazzas : In-house pizzas using Ciabatta bread
Tomato Basil & Mozzarella : Ciabatta bread topped with Tomato Basil and Mozzarella Cheese. Tomato Basil was delicious. The topping was slightly less in proportion for the serving made to us, so that resulted in the Ciazza being soft at the top leaving the bread hard at the base. So the balance and consistency needs to be attained. Otherwise a very good preparation.
Spicy Mutton, Egg & Cheddar : The undoubted star for the day !!! Ciabatta bread topped with juicy, delicious, very well prepared Mutton Keema , not-at-all spicy but still excellent, which in-turn was topped with Half-Fried Egg. Juice of keema was very well soaked by the bread, that was lacking in the Tomata Basil Ciazza. An absolute treat on the offer for non-veg lovers.
The Breadish Connection :
Panner Tikka Kulcha : Panner Tikka preparation stuffed in their in-house Kulcha. Delicious preparation and must have for veggies. Quite appetizing…
Chicken Pita Pocket : Tender chunks of Chicken, grilled and stuffed inside Pita Bread and drizzled with Hummus. Simply superb preparation.
Harissa Chicken & Egg Panini : Shredded Chicken and Eggs tossed in Harissa sauce used to prepare the Panini. Another delicious and appetizing entity.
Three Cheese Pasta was very well prepared. Very basic, yet good preparation.
Spaghetti Meatball : Spaghetti tossed with deliciously prepared Meatballs. And as they say, just Slurp It Up !!! That’s the best thing you should do to enjoy it till the last bite 😉
Desserts : How can a visit to any Patisserie be referred to as accomplished without having desserts ! So this visit ain’t finished yet 😀
The desserts that we had were, White Chocolate Strawberry Bavarian Mousse, Strawberry Cheese Cake, Orange Chocolate Parfait, Red Velvet Cake and Paris Brest. All were excellent, but the ones I personally liked were Orange Chocolate Parfait, White Chocolate Strawberry Bavarian Mousse and Strawberry Cheese Cake, in the order mentioned.
At last but not the least would like to thank the owners Darshan Bhattad and Ajay Ahuja for the memorable evening.
And some more pics from the venue.
From the pricing in the menu, it looks a VFM place. So a place worth giving a shot.
