Restaurant Name: Villa Misha, North Main Road, Mundhwa, Pune (Behind 1 Lounge and Restaurant)
Date of Visit: 15th October 2016
It was an exclusive #FoodProwl (http://www.foodprowl.com/) food tasting event.
Villa Misha, named after the owners Mihir and Shanaya, revolves around the idea of providing people a place to chill-out and relax in a peaceful environment with beverages (non-alcoholic) and food. It’s a bungalow which has been converted into a cafe sort of place with both indoor as well as outdoor seating available. The interiors are impressively done using themes from across the globe.
Coming the the food, the meals started with their Watermelon Beetroot Shots. Nicely prepared with balanced flavors.
Mozzarella Chicken Wraps prepared using minced chicken were also nice done and could have been more crispy but good that they were not oily.
Lamb Chops served were also spot-on with perfectly balanced flavors and probably the best entity for me for the day.
Peri Peri Fish is another must have entity. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Served alongside mashed-potatoes, the preparation which at times seemed to be better the the fish itself.
Prawn Cocktail was also pretty decent. However use of bigger prawns would make it even better.
Thai Curry both Chicken as well as with Prawns was also bang on target with perfectly balance flavors. But the problem, other than the meat, both the curries are exactly the same. So may be minor variation needs to be induced to segregate the two, but it should be minor.
Amongst the desserts, Chocolate Fondant undoubtedly was the winner for the day. An absolute must have, if you are a chocolate lovers.
The Blueberry Cheese Cake, if not the best, gave a tough competition to the Chocolate Fondant. Just a matter of one’s inclination to chose between either of the two.
Saffron Crème Brulee with caramelized sugar top and pudding beneath it that had a distinctive flavor of egg is a nice dessert to have as well. Is not going to disappoint you at all.
Nachos with Salsa and Sour Cream, really nothing to explain about it.
Misha’s Special Salad, comes with Watermelon, Apple and Feta.
