Yet another Zomato Foodies Meet-up invitation with the venue being Kokkita. (#ZomatoMeetUp)
Hard to believe that in the midst of Hadapsar chaos such a nice place is located where you can enjoy food and drinks, accompanied with friends or family. Wondering now as to I kept missing this place till now, which was right under my nose. Thanks to Zomato for landing me up there. Definitely going to become one place which I might be visiting frequently, if they maintain their food quality and standards as served for the Zomato meet-up.
Kokkita as they say, is derived from Indonesian word ‘Koki-Kita’ meaning ‘Our Cook’.
Reviewing the food, post Zomato Meet Up, is always a tough task. With the wide-spread food on offer, lots of pictures to be clicked and not to forgot the food chat involved with the fellow foodies, it becomes tough to recollect every single entity consumed. So briefing what all I can reminisce for now 😀
Whiskey Sour Cocktail: As referred to “The Whiskey Sour is one classic cocktail that won’t make you sour” … and truly well made. Never felt the so called sourness but needed intermittent stirring to blend in the ingredients.
B-52 Fire Shot: Again a nicely prepared cocktail with nice layering of Coffee Liqueur with Irish Cream. Although the cocktail was nice, but the guys serving themselves seemed not to be well trained to fire it up and guide/help persons who don’t know how to consume the Fired Shots. They were themselves very unsure as well as circumspect about consuming a fired shot. That suppressed the whole intent of having the cocktail. Else it was good, the flamed-out one. Fired ones are just for clicks 😉
The other Mocktails and Cocktails served were presented nicely, not sure about the taste and preparation.
Stuffed Mushrooms: Nicely marinated mushroom chunks cooked to perfection. Not to spicy and a good entity to try out.
Achari Paneer Tikka: Tangy and nicely prepared but again not spicy as the name ‘Achari’ indicates.
Tacos Beans: Did not tried, but looked good.
Red Chilli Garlic Chicken: Succulent and soft chicken chunks marinated well with extra chilli to make it spicy. It had a persistent but not dominating spicy flavor that one can always feel on the tongue. Although it states Red Chilli, but use of black pepper seemed to be creating the effect. Very good starter indeed, probably the best of the day.
Lucknovi Mutton Chops: Although nicely prepared but it appeared that Mutton was not fresh. Also not marinated for long enough as the taste of spice and flesh was segregated.
Tawa Surmai and Tandoori Surmai: Both the fish starters were nicely done in terms of marination used but disappointed as the fish didn’t seemed to be fresh.
Kokani Machhli Curry Pomfret: The gravy was good but lacked the coconut-milk effect to correlate it to being Kokani preparation.
Mutton Roganjosh: Resembled homely preparation as both mutton and gravy blended well with each other to make a perfect dish.
Mutton Matka Biryani: Well a very disappointing biryani preparation. The mutton was well cooked, the rice was also there with all the required spices present as well. But just not sure of the method adopted to prepare it. The biryani just didn’t had a cumulative taste. It was very easy to segregate the taste of mutton, rice and spices just didn’t blend with each other !
Not a big fan of desserts anyways, hence not sure what was served. A chocolate cake with ice-cream on the top and hot chocolate poured. Looked delicious and tempting and definitely a good pic to click 😀
Overall the first visit was impressive and food lucrative enough for giving it some more frequent visits.
It was fun to meet the new foodies in the town namely, @BiryaniMaster (Aprajit), @malayvasavada (Malay), @ChatoriiLadki (Mishri), @ank742 (Ankita) and @jshreyasi (Shreyasi). As always @VaishnaviMeghe deserves a note of appreciation for organizing the meet-up and not to forget the other Zomato team persons in the meet-up (Mohammed, Kishore and Shravanthi) for making the evening perfect with food, drinks and foodies.
Do not hesitate if you are visiting or want to try this place for the first time.
